Welcome to Dragonflybrogo - The 'farm tour' offers the opportunity for our guests to immerse themselves in nature's beauty, characterized by a myriad of sights, sounds, and aromas. As you stroll through open fields, you will be captivated by the variety of trees, grasses, native and introduced that thrive in our soils.

Throughout the tour, we as your guide will provide insights into sustainable farming practices, the importance of biodiversity, and the intricate relationships among the various elements of our ecosystem.

In addition to the extensive array of trees, the tour features engaging encounters with a variety of farm animals. Visitors will have the chance to observe chickens free ranging in the home paddock, sheep grazing in their fields, cows tending to their calves. Wander the natural watercourse (House Creek) that winds its way through the centre of our farm, where you will be overwhelmed by the sheer height of the staggeringly tall Viminalis (Manna Gum) 40 metres tall!

Dragonflybrogo invites you to partake in this enriching experience that merges fun and learning within a natural setting. We provide a native tree for you to plant as part of our tree planting program. The philosopher and author from Calcutta Rabindranath Tagore wrote "The one who plants trees, knowing that he will never sit in their shade, has at least started to understand the meaning of life". We have a strong sense of commitment to the future well being of our planet and hope to share this same philosophy with others.

of Wildlife

Dragonflybrogo prides itself on being a sanctuary for a multitude of native wildlife species. Visitors embarking on our farm tour can expect to encounter a vibrant tapestry of fauna, each playing a crucial role in the ecosystem. One of the most iconic inhabitants of our farm is the echidna. Known for their distinctive spiny coats and unique reproductive methods, echidnas are a fascinating addition to the wildlife scene. Observing these creatures in their natural habitat provides insight into their behaviours and adaptations.

Additionally, wombats can often be seen ambling through the underbrush, showcasing their distinct burrowing skills. Their presence is a testament to the healthy soil and vegetation on the farm, highlighting the importance of maintaining an environment conducive to such wildlife. Together with kangaroos, which are emblematic of the Australian landscape, these species greatly contribute to the ecological balance of our farm. The sight of kangaroos grazing peacefully amidst rolling hills serves as a reminder of the diverse forms of life inhabiting the area.

Birdwatching enthusiasts will also be delighted by the extensive avian population on the farm. From vibrant parrots to elusive raptors, the diverse birdlife adds a dynamic element to the scenery. In addition to these native creatures, we also care for farm animals such as cattle and sheep. These animals play an important role in agriculture while coexisting peacefully with wildlife.

By integrating trees into our farming practices, we not only provide shade and habitat for wildlife but also improve soil quality and help to capture carbon emissions. This approach demonstrates a harmonious relationship between agriculture and the environment.

To ensure your enjoyment and comfort please wear sturdy shoes and a hat. Bring your own water bottle, but if you forget there will be fresh water available. We provide a free hat in your accommodation. Don’t forget to bring your camera to capture the breathtaking scenery and memorable moments created during your tour.
